All About ANSI Standards
Presentation by Tim Fisher, CSP, CPEA, ARM; Director of Practices and Standards, American Society of Safety Engineers
Our member survey this past summer indicated that you wanted a program on ANSI standards. Well, here it is!! Tim Fisher – probably one of the most conversant people in ANSI standards is traveling from our National Headquarters in suburban Chicago to discuss ANSI Standards: How they are promulgated, who promulgates them, when do we need to comply, how OSHA has incorporated them into regulations, how OSHA uses them to cite employers (especially 5a1 citations), how ASSE is involved in these standards, how YOU can be involved in the development of the standards, and much more.

In addition, Jim Shaw from the UN-O Criss Library will discuss resources available to the Safety, Health & Environmental Professional including: ASTM and ANSI standards, how to use the Inter-Library Loan Program, how to search for documents with Criss Library’s on-line search engines, and much more.

The purpose of the Great Plains Chapter is to promote the advancement of the safety profession and safety professionals throughout our geographical area: the State of Nebraska; these counties in Iowa: Plymouth, Cherokee, Woodbury, Ida, Monona, Crawford, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Cass, Mills, Montgomery, Fremont, and Page; these counties in Minnesota: Rock, Nobles, Pipestone, and Jackson; and these counties in South Dakota: Lincoln, Minnehaha, Hanson, Hutchinson, Bon Homme, and Yankton.
In fulflling its purpose, the Chapter sponsors educational programs and forums for the interchange of ideas and knowledge. |
